Teacher or Student?

People say I have always been a very demanding and severe teacher.
And now, that I am in the position of an e-learner, I am not very satisfied with me.
I am not doing my tasks in time.
I have not suceeded to learn eveything that has been taught to us.
My conclusion is that it is easier to be a teacher than a student.
At least for me:):):):)
I am feeling quite guilty right now.

Dear Mariana, may I join the club? I spend my freetime reading the articles, trying to place the newly aquired knowledge into my system and adjust it to my teaching style and teaching aims and feel excited but at the same time lost in this ocean. Never mind. This is what learning is like. Just like learning a new language or anything else. For weeks, months or even years, the things we learn are just bits here and there, but suddenly something clicks and there you are: it all makes sense. We, teachers, are sometimes not patient (or comfortable) enough with ourselves as learners. I'm sure it's worth it. Kind regards.

Mariana...this realization is one of the most important things that can happen to a teacher. Just like you, students have their own lives outside school, their own rhythm and pace of learning, which is something many teachers do not seem aware of.
We progress in our own learning, through an internal dialogue (with yourself) and external (with the others).
Awareness of a difficulty is a step in the learning process. The next step is action: how am I going to deal with it, what am I going to do about it? Is there a way I can change?

Hi Mariana

Don't feel guilty - there's so much to do on this course, and most teachers are all very 'time poor' (I never find the time to carry out all my plans). The good thing about the course is that we are building links to people and learning that will be there (hopefully) long after the actual six weeks of the course is up. Just try to keep swimming along with us, and do what you can, then you can always go back and have a closer look at some of the things you missed out on.

The best solution is to use your own pace and stop worrying. You are a diligent person and you will manage. Smile :)
